a. Household Waste Collection. Household waste will be picked up during normal trash days (once a week). This is non-hazardous Waste Material generated by a residential customer. Household waste that is not placed inside the 95-gallon cart, whether or not bagged or otherwise contained outside the 95-gallon cart, will not be collected by VWS. Poly cart will be picked up weekly. Yard Waste Collection. Brush will be picked up during normal trash days (once a week). Leaves, plants, and clippings must be bagged. Limbs, branches, and bushes must be bundled with degradable string or twineand no items shall be over four (4) inches in diameter or four (4) feet in length. There is a maximum amount of 1 poly cart container of Yard Waste & Bulk waste per week combined. Bulk Home Improvement Waste Collection. Bulk waste will be picked up during normal trash days (once a week). This is non-hazardous Waste Material generated by a residential customer doing small home projects including small furniture, household items, etc. It excludes large projects involving a contractor and large household items. There is a maximum amount of 1 poly cart container of Yard Waste & Bulk waste per week combined.
b. If you have bulk waste in excess of the allowable amount, you can con tact Watonga Light &Water office to schedule a pick-up and payment must be received before bulk waste can be collected. Per City Ordinance.
July is our ‘Boots and Badges’ month where the Police Department is pitted against the Fire Department. Each donor votes for one of these departments. Currently the Fire Department holds the trophy.
Donations are extremely needed whereas OBI is at a one-day supply currently. As always, OBI gives each successful donor a t-shirt. At this blood drive the Fire Department will be cooking hotdogs for all participants. Chips, cookies, and drinks will also be available! Thanks for your help! Watonga City Manager, Karrie Beth talks to Watonga Regional airport manager, Jena Ohman about the upcoming Watonga Regional Airport (JWG Watonga’s call letters) Fly In/breakfast May 27th. They also highlight and discuss the improvements over the last 6 years, including the AWOS Weather 3 System. This and other improvements that have been made to our Airport, and this past years appropriations made by a 2 million dollar grant to improve our new runway and the airports future plans. Also Karrie Beth updates us on the grand opening of “The Lookout!” Roman Nose State Parks new restaurant. The restaurant is set to have the Grand Opening Tuesday, May 23rd at 6pm. Saturday, there is also a Re-Opening of the Ferguson Museum
